Foram conhecidos os vencedoresdos Critics Choice Awards da Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA), associação que reúne críticos de televisão, rádio e online dos Estados Unidos e Canadá.
Apesar de The Favorite liderar com 14 indicações, foi Roma o grande vencedor da noite, ao arrecadar o prémio de melhor filme, melhor filme estrangeiro, melhor realizador e melhor cinematografia. A comédia de época de Yorgos Lanthimos levou para casa dois prémios (Melhor Elenco e Melhor Atriz em Comédia- Olivia Coleman), enquanto Christian Bale ganhou o prémio de Melhor Ator em Comédia e Melhor Ator por Vice. Lady Gaga e Glenn Close foram coroadas (ex-aqueo) melhores atrizes. Já Regina King ganhou a estatueta de Melhor Atriz Secundária por If Beale Street Could Talk, enquanto Mahershala Ali recebeu o prémio de Ator Secundário por Green Book.
Destaque ainda para os prémios entregues a Eight Grade (melhor atriz em estreia), Um Lugar Silencioso (melhor filme de terror), Missão Impossível: Fallout (melhor filme de ação), Homem-Aranha: No Universo Aranha (melhor animação), Assim Nasce Uma Estrela (melhor atriz e melhor canção original) e Crazy Rich Asians (melhor comédia).
Na TV, The Americans foi a melhor série dramática e viu ainda Matthew Rhys ser consagrado como melhor ator e Noah Emmerich melhor ator secundário. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel venceu nas comédias, enquanto Rachel Brosnahan e Alex Bornstein foram também premiados.
