Com a temporada dos prémios, vem também a temporada dos "top 10"'s. A famosa Cahiers du Cinéma divulgou os seus filmes preferidos do ano, com Les garçons sauvages de Bertrand Mandico no topo das escolhas.

Depois, vários cineastas habituados a estar no top da revista surgem, como Bruno Dumont (Coincoin and the Extra-Humans),  Steven Spielberg (The Post) ou Lars Von Trier (The House That Jack Built). Paul Thomas Anderson (Phantom Thread), Lee Chang-dong (Burning), Patricia Mazuy (Paul Sanchez est revenu!), Hong Sang-soo (On the Beach at Night Alone), Kirill Serebrennikov (Leto) e Guillaume Brac (Treasure Island) são outros cineastas em destaque.
