Foram há momentos divulgados os nomeados à 31ª edição dos Independent Spirit Awards, os mais importantes prémios destinados ao cinema independente norte-americano.
Carol [ler crítica], de Todd Haynes, lidera as nomeações com um total de seis indicações, sendo seguido de perto por Spotlight e Beasts of No Nation [ler crítica], com cinco. Anomalisa [ler crítica] e Tangerine têm quatro nomeações cada.
